Sport & The City is a two month (June/July 2010) online photographic competition supported by Lonely Planet.

ellesse was born in Perugia, Italy in 1959. The brand was the realization of expert tailors Leonardo Servadio, whose passion for skiing inspired him to create revolutionary designs in skiwear throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The company was named after his initials (LS - ellesse).

It is with this revolutionary spirit in mind that ellesse have created 'Sport & The City' - a two month (June/July 2010) online photographic competition supported by Lonely Planet.

The 'Sport & The City' competition is a global call to action charging existing ellesse consumers, photography enthusiasts and the blogging community to document any sporting event that makes their city special - enriching the social tapestry and creating beautiful moments set against an ever changing background.

We are not just looking for everyday sports reportage but images that truly capture the spirit and emotion of a city - each photograph should look to capture 3 fundamental principles - Sport, Style and Creativity. Each of these images will be added to an online gallery at the dedicated campaign microsite along with the contributor's chosen caption - creating an online travel guide; with our consumers as contributors.

The 4 winners will eventually be chosen by a judging panel (including a Lonely Planet Expert) and will be given the opportunity to travel to one of four different European cities (London, Barcelona, Rome or Athens) while documenting their trip with a new SLR digital camera. Interim prizes will be provided by our partner Lonely Planet, alongside other cameras.
